What DOES work, is a PotC-style sort of thing where Lucanis is Treviso's most eligible bachelor, grandson of Governess Dellamorte of Treviso, and Em is the uppity apprentice to renowned blacksmith and storyteller Varric Tethras, who Lucanis saved from a shipwreck when they were children.
