Herman's Nursery was located on rt 44 in Poughkeepsie and visiting over the holidays was a yearly treat.

Holiday shopping at Luckey-Platt Department Store was a Poughkeepsie tradition

In its heyday, families came from miles around to shop at Luckey-Platt for everything from clothing, household goods, rugs and furniture.

The second photo is a partial top lid from original Luckey-Platt box. The rest of the box deteriorated over the years as this was from the 1940’s-1950’s and was a thin shirt box I had from my Aunt.

If you live in the Poughkeepsie NY area stay safe. Trump supporters are out today having a procession down Rt 9. I don’t know where they’re going but they’re slowing down traffic and causing a lot of confusion with their honking and shit.
