I was impressed to hear from my friend, that Korea is called 'Pays du Matin Calme' (Land of Morning Calm) also in France. The expression came from the 'Joseon' Dynasty (Korean dynastic kingdom which lasted 5 centuries). In fact, the name, Joseon originally means 'fresh and clear morning' but it had been translated rather poetically with a sad reason by western culture in the old days.
