FCC To Loosen Rules On Local Media Ownership This article gives a really excellent breakdown of what Trump's FCC is doing with regard to media. The TLDR version: a lot of rules to guarantee media diversity and to prevent concentrations of power within one particular company/organization--which can also mean an outsized influence of particular ideologies, as with the Conservative media company that will soon have access to nearly 70% of households!--are being utterly gutted. It's happening quietly, sneakily, and it's terrifying. @maggieandthedragon this may be of especial interest to you after yesterday's convo. But honestly all my U.S. followers need to read this. It's a very subtle way of undermining free press.
