I spent a transformative week this summer with Hand in Hand in Tbilisi, Georgia, documenting the stories of people with disabilities leading meaningful lives because they were living in homes and not in large institutions. The goal of Hand in Hand is to create loving, healthy environments and get people out of large institutions and into homes so they can lead normal lives. I am sharing work this week on the de-institutionalization of care for people with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities.
