My re-watch of “Abridged” just reaffirmed why I consider Bridge the textbook definition of ‘adorkable’.  Look at him!  :D

However, he absolutely has layers.  While he’s often genuinely socially awkward, he is self-aware enough to play it up to fool the villain of this episode.  He’s also has enough self-confidence to pursue his own leads despite the rest of the squad being convinced another entity is the bank robber.

I also well remember in another episode when Bridge gently but firmly pushes back on Jack’s Christmas remark by saying it’s like Hanukkah for him (potentially an ad-lib given that his actor is Jewish).  Bridge is a dorky sweetheart, but he’s not just a dorky sweetheart, which somehow just makes me appreciate him all the more.  Though it does help that the franchise is idealistic enough that Bridge isn’t expected to stop being a dorky sweetheart.

Here’s a pair of Doggie close-ups, one from “Abridged” and one from “Missing”.  For being from 2005, I think this practical effect has aged remarkably well.  I’m not 100% sure if John Tui was in the suit or if he just did the voiceover; in either case, he then got to be onscreen next season as Daggeron, so it worked out for him.
