I've never seen a picture of myself that stops me. But with this, it catches a chord within my chest because I see this, and for the first time think, "...It's me." I have never looked at an image and felt it reflected back to me how I feel or how I view myself. But this captures more than all of that. It has stopped on a piece of my heart & soul. I never feel more alive than when I am before the King in the throne room. I am at peace with myself in these moments, as if all the stars and cosmos within me finally are aligned and dancing in unison. Prayer and communicating with God in open access changes me. This picture will be cherished forever. Because I finally see me.
This weekend I pursued one of my passions. My community came behind me when I said I wanted to create a space of nonstop prayer over the Easter weekend. I was awake for over 50+ hours watching people of all ages and races come to experience more of God. We all came in with different expectations, all at different places in our faith journey with the Lord. It was beautiful to witness. The weekend was documented by the lovely Elissa, and she sent me some of the pictures last night. I cried. I know I was there the whole time and saw all of these things unfold; but there is such a holy calm and presence that she captured in each photo. God moves in the creative space, and it is evident in every shot. This is of me and one of my best friends. He came to press in to God and also support me and my dreams. I am so thankful for that. For friends who dream. Friends who dream my dream with me. @stephaniegraceofficial and @lesleylloyd came Friday night as well, and brought me breakfast the next day, which was almost as great of a gift as their presence was. I have pictures of these two as well, but I'm waiting for them all to download in Dropbox. But let me tell ya, watching them both press into God was reviving. When I was tired and feeling a lack of connection, seeing them reading, worshipping, writing, striving for breakthrough, made it all worth it. Success is not based on my emotions. But I am beyond blessed and successful in these relationships. These people push me. They encourage me when they say, "Yes. You can do this!" Instead of saying I'm insane for being awake for an entire weekend. Their doubt is never spoken, just faith that I can. I am so grateful for these three. This weekend is something I will be processing for weeks to come. My word this year is "pursuit" and let me tell you, after this, I am done being afraid of that.
Today grandma bought me a book about the last days JFK and Jackie spent together. I died. There are pictures in it. My loves.
She also got me a new leather journal that is beyond beautiful with unlined pages. Just the way I like it.
And, the sweet woman she is, paid for the journal I needed to get for the 40 hour prayer event I’m leading Easter weekend.
This woman, I tell ya.
