PRAYERS FOR CANDLES
I don't usually post things related to the Rosicrucian path as we have our own social media sites but still... There are enough Christian mystic on here that could benefit from the simple prayers that I feel compelled to share.
Note that there are two candles and an incense box in the back. The candle on the left is for the Divine Mother- my understanding of the Holy Spirit, and the one on the right is for Rav Yeshua- Christ Himself.
As I light my incense I recite the Lord's Prayer, usually smiling lost in thought on the Divine grace and love permeating all things. I assume most people are familiar with the the Lord's Prayer, but just in case:
"Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power,
Forever and ever. Amen."
Next I light the candle on the left to the Divine Mother and recite the Catholic prayer known as Come Holy Spirit:
"Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
O God, Who instructed the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation, through Christ, our Lord. Amen."
Finally, I light the candle on the right to Rav Yeshua and use a prayer I was taught by an Anglican Priest:
"I clothe myself in a robe of light,
That is made of the Power, the Love,
And the Wisdom of Jesus Christ.
Not only for my own protection but so all who come in contact with me are healed, even as I am healed.
I am sealed as Christ's own forever. Amen."
After these prayers I carry on with the rest of my meditative practice. Once I am finished, I extinguish the candles in the same order I lit them with a very Catholic "ashes to ashes, dust to dust." That's it.
