okay so here have two characters
these were intended for the brit!au of supernatural but idk they could also work in the normal spn-verse or maybe even pjo with a bit of tweaking
they're basically like mega close friends who have no boundaries. they would never describe themselves as friends with benefits but they do kiss each other on the cheek and the forehead and sometimes on the mouth when things get mega emotional (ie YOU ALMOST FUCKING DIED YOU IDIOT I CAN'T LOSE YOU)
Rachel Keenan, 19, black cisgirl, is the main worrier. She's the older one and the one who constantly focuses on the logistics of things (we need to get more salt, where are we going to stay tonight, which station in Milton Keynes doesn't have any ticket barriers) because she comes from a single-dad household with a younger sister and she's used to having a lot of responsibility and making ends meet. Her family either think she's dead or missing, I haven't quite decided yet. She constantly dresses in a hoodie, cargo pants and trainers, because fuck fashion she needs practical (and the hoodie's really thick, because she's p sensitive to the cold). Her fingernails are short because she routinely bites them at the end of the day, or when she gets nervous. She never changes her hairstyle because it was her sister's favourite style and she doesn't want to forget.
Aidan Sorrel, 17, mixed-race (white & pakistani) transmale, is the research guy. He was raised in your traditional nuclear family with both parents as anthropologists specialising in mythology. They were very loving, up until he tentatively told them that his name was Aidan, not Aïda, and he was actually a boy. Then they kicked him out. He ended up on the same railway station platform as Rachel and saved her from being killed by Black Annis and they ended up roaming the country, hunting beasties. He's the one who dresses up nice and styles his hair and puts on a little eyeliner, because he's finally free to express who he is, and if he can't look amazing while saving people and kicking ass then when can he? His one concession to practicality is a pair of heavy boots, and even then it's only because Rachel pointed out that he already kicks like a mule. Additionally - and this took him a while to work out - he can see ghosts, because he was born in the chime hours. Not that they're always happy to see him, but eh, it's a start.
They get around the country by hopping onto trains at stations with no ticket barriers and sometimes hitchhiking short distances and sometimes just plain walking, if all else fails. (Aidan had been having driving lessons, but being kicked out sort of put an end to that.) They get sleep wherever they can get a few hours and speak enough of the Celtic languages and Middle English to banish most creatures. Rachel defends Aidan from transphobes and he insists that he can look after himself and Rachel is always like 'but you shouldn't have to'. And a worrying number of people they save are too racist to thank the people who saved their lives, just because one is black and the other is mixed-race. Aidan and Rachel would really like to let those ones die, but they don't because they're meant to save people, even if those people are bigots. But sometimes they graffiti their house before they skip town.
