You need to give it to them. They are patience personified, love amplified, with a smile that is contagious, shining bright, making every day look a lot better for all of us. Managing kids, especially preschoolers is no easy feat. As parents, we get frustrated real fast. But here are a specific group of people who love kids, love what they do and nothing makes them happier than putting a smile on the little one’s face. Do you know what a typical day looks like for a preschool teacher?
The running and the screaming and the fighting and the arguing and the hitting and the pushing and the falling and the whimpering and the crying and the being sad and what not! While working with very young children, communication can be hard to understand and the job gets doubly difficult to rationalise, set rules and make them understand why.
We are blessed to have preschool teachers in our life and we need to thank them for doing what they do diligently, effortlessly and even more so, lovingly.
So when they don’t respond to you (parent) query on chat immediately, or unable to get to the phone because they are busy running around the kids and managing them, please be patient. There’s more beneath what you can see in the surface.
Here’s a peak on how a typical day of a preschool teacher looks like
8:30 AM: Mark their own attendance.
8:35 AM: Ensure the class room is clean and child friendly. Are there things scattered all over the floor from the previous evening at school? Fix. Any sharp objects that should not be seen around? Pick and dispose safely.
8:45 AM: Keep the day’s activity ready for the kids. Discuss with the principal if necessary
