They did the Godbye Stranger line in the prequel when john was possessed. (this isn't you etc) and it didn't work.

OF COURSE IT DIDN'T WORK. GOODBYE STRANGER HAPPENED AFTER FOUR SEASONS OF BUILT UP TENSION. JOHN AND MARY HAVE ONLY KNOWN EACH OTHER IN THE PREQUEL FOR LIKE A WEEK.

and the most infuriating thing is that somewhere in my head, I'm like....they could still pull this off if it's eventually revealed that the story the prequel is telling is wrong. If it's revealed that heaven has been pulling the strings the whole time and they don't ACTUALLY feel that way about each other, it was just the cupid's influence. And I know I KNOW that this won't happen (or at least not in any kind of satisfying way) but my stupid brain is still like wow what if they DID do that because THAT would actually be interesting.

Okay I feel like I should've noted this earlier but I'm still betting the prequel takes place between episodes 19 and 20 of season 15 only because a) the outfit looks slightly different than what he wore in the finale and b) why are their powerlines in Heaven?

ok all jokes aside i really hope we get a continuation now. i'm still keeping my fingers crossed for s2 and a reboot miniseries because i thing the winchesters gang deserves the spotlight in their own series and dean and cas' storyline should be adressed properly.
