1. He couldn’t breathe. It all happened so fast. One minute they were arguing, and the next...

It appears I like to make a little exposition at the beginning, just to get people invested in the story and provide context. My favorite opening line is probably the 1st one, only because of the context of the whole short shory. My favorite opening line without a conext is 3,
