Pride Lion by WhiteNorth

First of all, I enjoy the pun. Pride, as in a pride of lions, and also as in celebrating queer people. 

Second, the colors! The artist wanted to add “a touch of pride.” I’d say that’s “a touch,” wouldn’t you?

Third, the details. I really appreciate the time, precision and skill the artist WhiteNorth put into this.

Fourth, the artist says this is inspired by Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia. I think they did an excellent job capturing the strength, courage and nobility of Aslan. And also, those eyes carry both wisdom & tenderness.

Add it all together, and I see this as representing queer people in a way that is celebratory and acknowledges their power, courage, endurance, and dignity
