A new lore in Micah’s pack lore. To balance out Merlin’s grumpiness and childhood lore, I decided to write Unagi’s when they are adults. I do like Merlin a lot but he seem like he was a little bully when he was young. Changed his lore too a bit. Added a bit about how Unagi is in Merlins childhood.
So opposite to when they were young I decided to make Merlin... still grumpy but quietly loving. I imagine he would be protective with the little herbalist boyfriend.
Merlin
“Merlin was an arrogant Puppy. The new kid came and he thought. “Skinny little pup. I take him down.”
Since then he sneaked up on Unagi every day. And he lost every time. Not because that patchy kid was strong but because he noticed Merlin every time and wagged his tail at him, wearing a silly puppy grin. What a weird kid.
Merlin didn’t give up though. He tried to jump on him, nibble his tail but Una’s answer was always a lick on his face or a soft pat on his head. The adult smiled at them as if it was all just a game.
And that weird Una. When Bonito asked him who is he friends with, he said his name! How dare he! They are not friends, but enemies.
Sure, he showed Una how to sneak up on a mouse and a rabbit. He showed him where to hide if he wanna munch on the Egg stash the adults hide. He also stole some ointment when Una was clumsy and scraped his paw. But doesn’t mean they are friends. Not at all. Shortening his name to Una? So what! That doesn’t mean anything.
What? That they slept next to each other? That’s not his fault. He always fall asleep alone and wake up with Una curled up around his body. Next time he should just nip his tail.”
Unagi
“Unagi was running home as fast as his feet could take him. The old bear took his time that day and the sun was almost down by the time he finished the medicine he needed to learn that day. As he made it back to the dens, he quickly looked around for the others. He spotted Tessera, one of the hunter walking out from the nursery followed by her pups. Unagi barked a quick hello and took off towards the den he called home.
He was just about to ran inside when he collided with somebody else. He looked up and a pair of grumpy blue eyes looked back at him. Unagi started wagging his tail and licked Merlin’s nose. Merlin quietly growled in answer and got up to look if Unagi hurt himself. Once he finished his inspection, Merlin buried his face into Unagi’s neck pelt and just breed his scent in. They just stood there for a while, tail wagging in happiness.”
