A snowball launched from the front porch landed at his feet. He turned to see his sister and boyfriend staring pointedly at him, shivering, arms crossed. Atem’s puffy coat looked comically large on him, as if it were trying to swallow his head. Mokuba hadn’t bothered with warmer clothing, and stood there in pajamas and one of Shizuka’s long-sleeved shirts.
“I achieved my childhood dream and this is the reception I get?” he shot back.
“You said you’d turn back if the snow became an issue,” Atem pointed out. “You promised!”
“I did. I turned back from the freeway and found a shortcut home. You didn’t tell me which direction I had to turn back from.”
“That’s not what I meant and you know it!” Atem exclaimed. “Common sense would indicate that you’d stay in Domino, not go romping off in the woods!” “I have transcended common sense!” Seto said triumphantly.
“You can’t transcend something you weren’t born with.”
“Two Christmases!” Mokuba cheered.
They glared at her while she grinned like a Cheshire cat.
