Bangladeshi metal band ‘Trainwreck’ is all set to perform at the 30th Wacken Open Air (W.O.A) Festival that will begin today at Wacken, Germany. This is a historical moment for Bangladesh as well as our band music since no other band from here had ever set foot on this prestigious metal festival whose ardent followers are millions of hard core metal music fans from all around the world. Not only will our very own Trainwreck be performing in front of all these millions, they are sharing the stage with the likes of legendary bands such as Slayer, Cradle of Filth, Bullet For My Valentine, Within Temptation, Opeth, etc. These are the bands we grew up listening to and performing on the same stage as them is surely a dream coming true. Trainwreck members said they are totally excited with this phenomenal experience. However, for the band to get here, it was not an easy journey. They earned their spot at the Wacken Open Air festival. It all initiated at the end of the last year with the first Wacken Metal Battle Bangladesh in which the band Trainwreck was the champion. This took place at Russian Cultural Centre on December 1, 2018. The event was sponsored by G-Shock. The esteemed judges were Rafa, Lincoln from Artcell and Amit, vocalist of Orator. Approximately 77 bands sent their demos, out of which five were selected. These five were Trainwreck, Torture Goregrinder, Karma, Ionic Bond, and Infidel.
