@lovesick-on-the-loose i always imagined that the slave raid eldar and his father returned from was eldar's first, a sort of (morally reprehensible, of course) coming-of-age ritual. i can't imagine what it'd be like for your first adult "mission," maybe your first extended time away from home, to end with your whole village and the rest of your family slaughtered 😔
