Yesterday, Prince Daniel presented the Craaford Prize.
The purpose of the prize is to promote international basic research in the disciplines of mathematics and astronomy, earth sciences, life sciences (with a special emphasis on ecology) and polyarthritis (for example rheumatoid arthritis).
This year's prize was awarded to Professor Veerabhadran Ramanathan from the University of California.
Professor Ramanathan has laid the foundation for understanding how small particles and gases that accumulate in the atmosphere contribute to climate change. This knowledge is crucial in the work against global warming and has been of great importance for international agreements.
