Lying + crying for Levi & Arya?
ty for the ask felix! lying-are they good liars? do they have tells to show they’re lying?
levi is a great liar! he inherited a good poker face from malcolm and honed his ability to use it with leandra. he knows that emotions can be used against you, so levi is good at making others think what he wants them to think about him. he does bite the inside of his cheek a little when he lies, so it's not impossible to tell but you'd have to be looking for it.
arya isn't a particularly great liar and generally would prefer to say what's on her mind or not speak at all. she's better at lying about herself and her uncertainties because she doesn't want to be seen as weak or incompetent-but if you're paying attention, it's not hard to tell that her voice is strained and her smile is tight-lipped.
crying-what makes them cry? do they cry easily?
(ow. ow ow ow.)
levi doesn't cry often, save for when he's grieving. he cries after carver dies, but not until they're on the boat to kirkwall and he knows that bethany and leandra are asleep. he cries when leandra dies, in front of everyone, and it is loud and angry.
arya was a big crier as a kid but doesn't much as an adult-then, she usually gets angry before she actually cries. when she does cry, though, it's more of a 'dry-heaving' situation, and it's almost always when she's alone. she cries when her trust has been betrayed or when she's overwhelmed-she full-on loses it a little while after she's made inquisitor
