Koopa Queen: Peach

Princess Peach, human raised by the toads of the Mushroom Kingdom. A human born of a wish, though none know this. Peach herself is unaware of her wishborn nature.

What sort of wish is so strong as to make a fully sapient being?

An entire nation wishing to the stars for Peace from an age of conflict.

Peach was given to the Mushroom Kingdom, raised by some of the court as the oddity she is- perhaps it was the glimmer of stars in her eyes when found, or the fact the chancellor had no progeny of his own yet at the time. Either way, She was raised to be the next monarch of the Mushroom kingdom... But you knew all that already! The conflict with the neighboring kingdom went from a proper danger to a regular nuisance, The king and his infatuation and kidnapping crusades, becoming just anothe rsidebar in the papers the people no longer had to worry about. The story you know shows a Princess steadfast in her ways making peace without crossing her own boundaries or need.

But what if something different had happened when the Koopa Monarch her age fell hard for the beauty across the border? What if, instead of the conflict minimizing to something less harsh, it was ended altogether. Council to council, diplomatic meetings for the first time in ages, as kids not even ten years old met in the background, uncertain of eachother's differences, having always heard things that they should be wary, but being kids all the same.

What if an agreement was made?

Two Children to be wed once of age, equal power as two lands become one. Until then, wounds can be nursed and trade even start. 

One child was overjoyed. he'd been charmed immediately: of course he was, it was the symptom of the wish that made his beloved. Her charm and grace and beauty was custom made to endear the next generation to her. It was the tool of peace the Wish was made for. The story we know showcases a bumpier road, but while this route ends up more direct, it is not without it's issues.

Peach is a nickname chosen, and one she held to herself upon the news. It was not until wed could she no longer bear to hear a name she did not claim her own be called with such a passionate love she did not return. Bowser has always been a wonderful husband, and father. She admires his heart, and his people admired their young king in the way her people held her in such hope and regard. They get along fine, but it has yet to feel fair, it may never feel fair... but it's what the land needs, it's what the people need, it is the cost of peace. it is the best for two nations, now one.

Here stands the Koopa Queen, finding contentment in a life outside her control, in a family that loves her, with children she holds dear... and a husband she cannot truly reciprocate. She is no prisoner, and there is no cage.

So why is it she looks to the stars, and asks for just a day to be free?

Obviously I haven't figured out all the details, but I've had the Idea of a "Bride of Bowser" AU Peach rattling around in my head for a while, so I finally designed her! I'm going to play around with her and see what I come up with.

I was really hyperfixated on the Super Mario Brother's Super Show as a kid, so a part of me can't help but give Villian Peach the same quirky alliteration insults that Koopa does
