The gate and entrance of the dormitory in Princess Tutu are inspired by the design of Schloss Frohnburg in Salzburg, Austria.

The dormitory in Tutu was a memorable place for Duck: her first time to transform into Princess Tutu, her first time to save the Prince, realizing herself a duck, becoming friends with Rue, Fakir realizing her identity of Princess Tutu and so on.

The model of Duck’s pond in Princess Tutu is in H.C. Andersen Haven in Odense- PART 2

After writing PART 1, I kept studying Google map views for several days. And I found out that the island-like plant changed a lot through over ten years after the Tutu staff shot photos in H.C. Andersen Haven. It’s hard to realize the two photos were shot in the same place (but different time). I re-clipped and uploaded right photos. Here’s the comparison between the photo shot by the staff and Google map view.

In Princess Tutu, the model of the small bridge in episode 6 is in  H.C. Andersen Haven near  St. Canute's Cathedral in Odense, Denmark.

The model of Duck’s pond in Princess Tutu is in H.C. Andersen Haven in Odense- PART 1

In Tutu, the pond is beside the antique store of Charon (Fakir’s foster father) and near the dormitory. Besides, the Official said that Fakir cried beside the pond:

We can get two things: 1. Duck escaped from Mytho to her pond at the end of episode 1 because, perhaps, the pond was near and familiar to her. 2. It’s easy to understand why Fakir chose the pond rather than other places like the mill house, the ruin house and the outdoor theater because the pond was nearest and very few people would visit it.

I guess the pond is really big because you see, there is no wall behind Duck’s back:

Amalienburg is located in Nymphenburg Palace in Nuremberg, Germany.

A ruin behind Odense Town Hall (Odense Rådhus) is the model of the broken theater in Princess Tutu. The staff visited Odense again in June, 2001 and found the ruin by chance.

Odense is the hometown of Hans Christian Andersen. And Andersen is the model of Drosselmeyer.
