Everyone should love Azumanga Daioh. Everyone. Hmm. Neat. I may have to give Empowered a chance then. c:

Yes, Azumanga Daioh is excellent.

The deluxe edition of Empowered has the first 3 volumes plus the original extras and a pretty in depth look of how the series grew out of the commissions and his development of the character including original drafts, outtakes and commentary. Its interesting reading a creator very open about the development of his series. Though the deluxe edition book is a bit pricey.

Ahh, alright. I've been trying to find stuff similar to Nana or Paradise Lost, but I've been unsuccessful. Oh snap, is Excel Saga still going on? I've seen the anime and read the first few volumes. Yotsuba, yes. <3 And Azumanga Daioh. Black Lagoon has been on my to read/watch list for a while. I saw a few covers for Empowered in some comic shops, and I dunno. Didn't really catch my attention enough.

Excel Saga is over 25 volumes long. It ended in Japan recently but the series is slow here. I love Azumanga Daioh.

I love Empowered. The first few volumes are sorta silly fun fluff though. Lots of short chapters. Things kick up serious notches in volume 3. After volume 4 it became my fave comic series. It is a superhero series but there is a bit of shojo in there because a lot of the focus is on the leads relationships with her best friend, her boyfriend, and her teammates. Its not everyones cup of tea as the series was born from superheroine damsel in distress commissions Warren was hired to do so there is a certain bondage thing going on(dialed back quite a bit by the latest volume). But I love it. I dread the wait for volume 8...

It seemed like she was getting to an ending point for Nana too, so it was too bad it had to end there. But I hope she's been recovering okay. Paradise Lost was wonderful too. Her stuff makes me emotional ha. Hmm. what other shojo manga series have you been following? I love Mike Allred's art. Well, if you ever want that omnibus again you can find it on Cheap Graphic Novels for a little under $70~

No other shojo manga right now. Was following Special A and High School Debut when they were out. Both were okay. Only manga I follow now is 20th Century Boys, Excel Saga, Skip Beat, Yotsuba, Black Lagoon, and Bamboo Blade.

Also Empowered. I count that as a manga even though its an American comic.

Midtown has a special place in my heart because they helped me get a ton of Madman and X-Statix issues. I think I remember reading a tiny bit of Skip Beat when the monthly Shojo Beat still existed a long time ago. But OMGYES, I want Nana back so hard. Or anything from Yazawa. But then I feel bad for wanting that because she's been sick and all that.

Yeah, sucks shes sick. I'd like more Nana. I like Skip Beat even though the current arc is not doing much for me. Could be because I use to read it online and only recently the books are where I left off.

I like Mike Allred but was mixed about Madman. Though I do have a few trades. Never read X-Statix. Almost bought the omnibus but I'm buying too many of those super big books. This year I got those Ultimate Ninja Turtles books collecting the original series, Invisibles Omnibus, Absolute Batman & Robin, Wonder Woman archives and I think some other stuff.

Oh, this whole time I thought you were just saying "mail order comics" but you probably meant the website. How derpy of me, sorry haha. I'll have to look into that site soon. Things From Another World, Midtown Comics, Cheap Graphic Novels, and InStock Trades have some nice prices at times too. Thanks for the Deadpool recs! I'm going to look that up now. c: Ooh yeah, what I've read of Monster was great. Shojo... my... my heart.

I order from Midtown for last minute single issues I decide I want to try. Or to catch up with a series I just started. Same with My Comic Shop. Used TFAW for the first time with Empowered vol. 7. 

I like some shojo. Reading Skip Beat now, hoping that Nana returns one day.

Demon Knights it great. I've actually never really read a Deadpool comic, so where's a good place to start? I've heard too many good things about 20th Century Boys. Our Valued Customers is pretty awesome, yeah. So what website do you use for your mail order stuff anyways (just curious)? I recently got a copy of the trade of Orc Stain off Amazon for $13. I know they're making a re-print soon, but I was so happy to get it because it goes for crazy prices online.

I use Mail Order Comics. Things have been a little glitchy since their site upheaval and Shipping is a bit much but 35% off single issues from main competitors. Since ordering there I started buying the pricey trades. Their customer service is impeccable so it makes up for mistakes.

Deadpool Classics is the chronological collection of his original minis and series. The first volume mostly bad until the final part which is issue 1 of his first ongoing. Volume 2 and up until Joe Kelley left. The current series is actually pretty fun. The first arc with him against the Skrulls is funny. 

I love 20th Century Boys, read it online at a manga scans site but I like to buy the stuff I enjoy. The creator has done great work. Monster is creepy crime/thriller type series. Pluto is a reinvention of a famous Astro Boy story. He actually started in shojo manga. I never read the Judo Girl Yawara series but the one set of anime they brought out over here was pretty cool.

Ick. Lame. Well, thank goodness for comic book websites then. :D I'll have to get a copy sometime. There are too many things on my Amazon wishlist.

I have a few comics right now sitting in my "saved later cart." Deadpool vol. 4. I got tired of waiting for Marvel to do another oversized HC edition so I just bought volume 3 a while ago. Demon Knights trade to get after I return from vacation and two upcoming volumes of the manga 20th Century Boys. Oh-and Dinosaurs vs. Aliens written by Morrison and director Barry Sonnifeld. The preview art looks cool.

In my Amazon preorders I got the next Deluxe Empowered volume, Our Valued Customer collection(awesome comic shop themed webcomic), Fables vol. 17, Grant Morrisons Invisibles Omnibus(over a 1000 pages!!!), the next Skip Beat volume, and the WildCATs deluxe edition which was delayed form January to September.

Of course my mail order service I have to preorder months in advance so I got lots there.

A discount annoyed you? D: I get 20% off because my pull is over 20 titles. Otherwise, it's just regular prices for everything. But another LCS in my town always has their trades 25% off the regular price just because, which is nice. Dayummm, jealous of that JH Williams III. How is Flex? I still haven't gotten around to reading it. Well, you could always do the giveaway as a celebration for 1000 followers. :D

I just thought I should've gotten a little more since I was there quite often and dropping lots of money month after month. Plus they kept messing up their coupon service. I'd get like $1 coupon even if I spent like 200 bucks in a month. They went outta business(again) and it probably doesn't help that there was another LCS on the other side of town that was far more popular and apparently better selection and discounts.

Flex is... its interesting. Looks great but having read as much Morrison as I have there are themes from the book he used elsewhere. That said it is crazy insane!
