Alissa, 2018
“Cléo No. 5″
The timing of this shoot with the end of the year and the end of the project has ultimately meant that I haven’t spent as much time with the images as some of the others, so when I went looking for today’s post last night and came across this one I got a little more emotional than usual. This is what I love about working with Alissa, she always manages to find the most emotionally charged poses. There’s so much to analyze within this image and the deeper you look the more you project your own feelings onto it... at least that’s the hope. This is also the perfect opportunity to remind all photographers to print your work, there’s no good way to really experience this shot on a screen. I’m looking at it on a 13″ macbook and it’s either too small to feel the impact, or too big to see without scrolling. As art culture and the way we consume art changes I wonder more and more if we need to rethink the traditional “art on a wall” concept, but I also think about what it’s like to stand in a gallery and without pop-up ads, scrolling screens, or digital noise to distract you and just stand in the shadow of an image and experience it. I think I’m printing this image. It needs to be experienced.
Print your Work | Large Framed Print of our Flower Shoot
Delivery day! We love printing out images! It gives us so much joy to create these images and to see them coming to life on print. We believe that amazing images should be printed and hung on your wall. Images that are on your phone and on your computer get lost, but images that are hanging on your wall will be looked at forever and will etch a memory into your mind of that moment in time.
That is what prints are meant for. That is why we want to see prints hung around the house of all of our loved ones. That is where art is meant to hang.
We did this shoot with Dorothy and couldn't wait to see the images that we created be placed on print. Can't wait to do a delivery day with you. If you are interested in a shoot, send us a message and we would love to talk to you about your photography.
Cheers!
Tangible reminders. Print your work. :)
Printing, printing, printing in the darkroom tonight. Can't remember the last time I slept. Will be showing these lith print lovelies Saturday at the Utah Clean Air Fair at the city library Saturday from 12-4. Let's get this graduation business done, shall we?
