been pretty much looping these albums all day so might as well post my impressions on all the aipuri (katsupara? i have no clue man) collabs ✌

Happy Tuning (SoLaMi♡Luminas) - really cute tune!! i think the six of their voices mesh really nicely here, has a nostalgic feel to it i really love. especially like sophie and sumire's bits together

START DASH SENSATION (Akari & Laala) - one of my favorite songs so was really looking forward to it, thought it was pretty good. im no music expert though but what ive observed generally from most of these songs are that pripara vocalists have a bit of that squeaky quirk to them most of the time jksdgsdghgh

Marble Make up a-ha-ha! (Hinaki & Mirei) - extremely compatible combination due to the fact theyre the genki types of their unit with similar voices but maybe im more used to miki's singing cause i was definitely a bit thrown off at first akjhdsgjsdgh

Tutu・Ballerina (Sumire, Sophie & Aroma) - pretty easily and probably my number one fav song from akari gen overall so i had high hopes, and sophie and sumire go together just about as well as i expected (Extremely so.) and i guess i kinda get what they were trying to do with aroma but i do have to admit it was a little jarring to hear in the between the angelic combo that was sumisophie

Koisuru Mitai ni Caramelize (Kokone, Nina, Mikan & Gaaruru) - i always thought koicara's best point was that it already had a pretty good balance with kokone and miyabi so the onslaught of soft-squeaky vocals in this one, while it wasn't bad i don't really have much of a say on otherwise. the song itself i rly like though so it gets a pass anyways

Kono Uta Tomareihi (Fuwari, Nono & Risa) - listening to this was a first for me but it was really cute!! while i was surprised on nonorisa doing a cutesier(?) song and how i dont have much of a reference for how the original went but i think nonorisa went really well with fuwari

Pure・Amore・Love (Hibiki & Juri) - ruined my day. ruined my life. already an incredibly good song and on top of how i Adore mitsuki saiga's voice, juri and her voice have been a longtime fave of mine it was an absolute bombshell to drop on me. honestly getting me to greatly consider giving pripara as a whole another shot because hibiki is incredibly my type of character on top of this stunning performance. wow. i love her deep voice and miho being able to keep up and mesh with her really well is absolute ear candy LOVED this one

ChicaxChica (Rin, Madoka & Sion) - i'm sorry for doubting you sion i did not know your game (<- has not heard her voice in a good few years). overall really good combination!! already loved the song as well as madorin's vocals in it so it was a real treat for sure

lucky train! (Nono, Risa, Dorothy & Reona) - enjoyed this one a whole lot! i really liked how dorothy sounded in this one especially, that first verse was sooooo good. if anything my only complaint was that outside of the twins and nonorisa there werent more fun combinations between them but i can let it slide

Devi & An☆Reversible-Ring (Rin & Madoka) - incredibly terrible attack for my madorin heart. this is like kaeyuri tutu ballerina all over again my childhood OTP getting to sing together brings me nothing but absolute joy. the song itself is super duper cute too and i incredibly enjoy the fanarts that have come out of it. devil madoka and angel rin despite the line distribution so true

Passion flower (Hibiki, Falulu & Fuwari) - i actually kinda like hibiki's lower pitch in this song ngl. it's an interesting contrast to both falulu and fuwari's softer voices in a different way that miho's more intense voice meshes with mona's. again a song i adore to the moon and back so i had high hopes for it and it somewhat delivered

Realize! (Aroma, Mikan, Gaaruru, Miyabi, Kokone & Nina) - while it was alright i think it was a little imbalanced with miyabi surrounded by girls with pop-cutesy voices (though aroma wasnt too bad there either?). the squeakiness definitely comes on strong here though without miyabi i dont think id have enjoyed it half as much. love realize as a song though so thats another of its saving graces

Make it! (Laala & Akari) - similarly to start dash sensation i think their voices both go pretty well together here 👊 though i thought the line distribution couldve been done a bit better, wouldve loved to hear akari to a bit of the bridge but it was pretty nice overall

PrettyxActivity (SoLaMi♡Luminas) - as with happy tuning it was a super cute song that really gets both of the series' best points together both lyrically and melody wise. all i have to say otherwise is that itd have been nice to hear more combinations between the six beyond the established pairs with similar archetypes/roles, but the song def doesnt suffer without it either

overall consensus is that i Really liked this album and it made me feel like being 10 again doing nothing but inhale idols all day and night with these two series. wagh. maybe its on me for being more used to aikatsu vocals as im not as used to pripara's vocal quirks but even so i enjoyed it a lot and honestly really want to give it another go and hopefully finish this time 👊👊👊
