✩ fresh from me to you: one scoop of prissy plastique flavored ice cream!
prissy plastique (date everything) with gender neutral, roommate!reader. sfw. prissy comforting you after a rough day at work! + masterlist — this was written for a closed event i was running which you can check out here!
. . . not all roommates are good roommates. you’ve had your fair share of bad ones; roommates that would leave dishes in the sink for weeks, ones that would leave their crap all over the place, and even a few that would forget to close the door when they used the bathroom. you’ve never had a roommate quite like prissy, however. she’s more than a good roommate. she’s a great one.
you didn’t realize it until today, though, after coming home from a stressful shift at work. the green haired woman greets you with a smile, only to frown once she notices how tired you are.
“rough day?” she asks, tilting her head as she walks over. her walk is smooth and full of personality, not unlike prissy herself.
“yeah,” you breathe out with a nod. “it’s just… so much, all the time. people can be—”
“terrible. i know,” she finishes your sentence for you, shaking her head at the thought, “but you’re home now. let’s leave those people behind out there.” she waves her hand to the front door before smiling at you again. “you know what we should do?”
her smile is as radiant as the sunshine she adores. it’s infectious, to the point of your own lips curling into a small grin. “what?”
“we should have a movie night!” prissy exclaims, “we can make popcorn, we can set up the living room— we can even watch your favorite! c’mon, c’mon!” she’s quick to corral you into the kitchen, humming softly as she searches for microwavable popcorn. as soon as she finds a small pack of popcorn, she waves it in the air for you to see like a prize, grinning from ear to ear. you finally set down your bags, watching as she starts the microwave and looks for a nice bowl to put it in.
soon enough, the smell of fresh popcorn fills your home. she opens the popcorn package up a little more, creating a sizable opening and pouring it all into a bowl before speaking again. “i know you have work again tomorrow, but hopefully watching a movie the night before helps. remember: we are tired but not defeated.” ah, her favorite saying. a useful one, though.
“i’m definitely tired,” you chuckle in response, walking over to her, “i might fall asleep halfway through the movie.”
she gasps, perking up. her eyes dart to yours as she exclaims, “that’s why we need blankets and pillows! i’ll set up the couch and the movie if you don’t mind getting those. i promise i won’t eat any popcorn without you!”
you laugh, but end up nodding, “sure.”
it’s not a hard or long search for pillows and blankets. really, the toughest part was carrying everything you wanted without dropping anything. when you get back to the living room, you plop everything down on the nearest surface. your gaze drifts over to the tv screen, already set up, and then to prissy, who’s sitting on the couch with one hand already reaching for the popcorn. when caught, she giggles softly, slightly embarrassed.
“sorry! it just smelled so good,” prissy says, her hand pausing right above the bowl, “here, you can have the first handful.”
you shake your head. “you’re fine, dig in.” you lay the blanket on your ottoman table for a moment, freeing up your hands so that you could set up the pillows. you plop down on the couch afterwards, reaching for the blanket again and draping it across your legs. you sigh softly, relaxing as the star of your favorite movie glances back at you from the movie’s paused title screen.
prissy grins, starting the movie. “hey. it’ll be okay,” she says, softly.
you turn your head, your gaze meeting hers, and offer a small smile. “i know. i’m tired… but not defeated.”
“there you go!” she replies, gently squeezing your shoulder in encouragement.
yeah, prissy’s great. not just a great roommate— she’s a great friend.
this one is shorter </3 i don’t know if i captured prissy’s vibe, i think she’d be a really great pal & wld genuinely be like, your person if you were her friend. i rlly liked making the moodboard for this one though.
