she sits him down one day and gives him a canvas and has a timer for five minutes. “what is this?” he asks as she sets up everything. she has the cheap paint out because she loves him but he’s not touching her more expensive paint. “take turns painting each other canvas and every five minutes we switch. okay? okay.” she then sits down and starts the timer and the music and starts painting paisley designs around the border, making them a light gray. taking her time cause she’s a perfectionist and this is the only time she’s really still. when the timer is done they switch and all jb has is a red background. “what is this?” he asks and she just points to his bandanna cause the timer already started and she’s adding orange and yellow to make it look like a sunrise reflecting off water. they switch again and now the middle is pure black and she fills the rest in and starts outlining what the center is going to be. switch again and he added a boat that says p4l on it and now she’s adding a fishing pole and the reflection snd shadows. it goes on like this for a while and JB keeps breaking the peaceful atmosphere by asking her what it’s supposed to be. she spends hours on her paintings and he doesn’t want to mess it up. she assured him that he’s not. by the time they finish his panting is him on the pogue fishing at sunrise. he signs it on the corner and has a big smile on his face. she shows him hers and it’s a bandanna but in the middle it’s a picture of them from their first date. him kissing her head while she’s holding a huge teddy bear he won for her. kie took it for them when she ran into them. hyper had it printed out and it was on her mirror at home. “so you can have your own copy of it.” she gives it to him and he immediately runs to his room to hang it up on his art wall. “does that mean you like it?” she asked, sitting on the couch still holding his. “i love it. i can’t believe i help make it.” “all you did was repaint the paisley design.” “that counts for something!”
