Attack Upon Arrival || Courtyard Open
From the shores of England to embarking on the journey to the grand castle, Magnus thought briefly of his time there in years past. Surely the scenery was bound to change as did he but what astounded him more so was the fact that the castle itself had changed very little. It was oddly comforting that the exterior was familiar to what he recalled in memory.
Suddenly there were two raps against the height of the carriage he and Alasdair rode in and a foot man at the door in waiting. “We’ve arrived, Your Highness, Lord Magnus.” The man informed them with a bow of his head as he opened the door for them both and set off to unload his things. “Aye, much thanks. Alright Alas, tell me where I’m...Whoa!” Magnus trailed before calling out as soon as he simultaneously heard and seen the blade of a sword come straight for him.
Pushing Alasdair back, Magnus felt the brunt of the force in his arm, luckily it wasn’t his good arm for he was able to unsheathe his own weapon and charge. “Alas!” He called out for his brother hoping to hear some sort of response before coming into contact with yet another attacker and looking over his shoulder to see him fighting off another fiend as he took and defended the blows that came his way. There weren’t many a few if he counted properly but everyone who traveled with him was dead, his brother the exception.
“Brother!” Magnus crowed once more as he seen a second blade charge for Alasdair’s back, but it was a near fatal mistake on his part as he heard before he felt the slash of an attacker’s blade collide with his neck. “Ahhhh!” He groaned out before slashing at another catching some piece of skin with his own blade but it wouldn’t be enough to end them.
Holding a hand to his neck, Magnus watched as Alasdair held his own and finally ran one of the men through, his blood staining his brother’s sword and while he felt elated, his vision began to blur and before he knew it, he fell knees first and then to the ground, only his brother’s distant tunneling voice in his ears was to be heard before everything went black.
