Hey kids, want a fun legends book about commandos without the resident misogynistic and racist and xenophobic author? Try Cestus deception it’s pretty much everything republic commando should’ve been.
What’s even great is it was written by a person of Color so he displays people of Color in Star Wars in a very nuanced and fun light. Also, as yes, this is a bit of my bias speaking but as a big Obi-Wan Kenobi fan, it was gratifying for me to find out that not only does he like the Jedi but he loves my favorite sassy general. Steven Barnes is his name if you like to check him out.
Edit: in the recent canon, he’s done a book about Mace Windu. If you wanna check that one out too. Diversity win!
