Can drama affect critisism (RWBY) by Compare and Contrast
This is a video I posted before, but am doing again in the hopes it gets spread further. Compare and Contrast is a small youtube channel yet has presented a very smart, calm, and articulate examination of the consequences of hatedoms on our ability to fairly judge fiction on its own terms as well as how good-faith critical analysis which inevitably becomes drowned out or appropriated by the mob. It is a pattern I wish to end, not just for my preferred works of entertainment, and know it likely will not. I do not seek to change anyone's minds, you're always allowed and entitled to your opinions, but I do seek for one to think about the intentions behind the voices they've heard and to risk exposing oneself to the subject of ridicule to have your own informed opinions. It is always possible that you're being lied to, and a lie as seemingly useless as whether or not you might like RWBY or not can hurt you in ways you won't expect.
