It wasn't often that Rogue broke down - she'd grown up strong and stubborn, and maybe a little terrified of the risks that came with those vulnerable moments. It was instinctual for a lot of people to want to hold those they cared about, to comfort them against whatever they were suffering, but the risk that she might hurt the people that just wanted to help usually kept Rogue from allowing herself to be in that position. Logan, though, was one of the few exceptions to that rule. He knew the risks. He had experienced them firsthand and survived, and knowing he could handle it left her feeling safe enough that it was okay to break down. She hadn't been expecting it, she'd been doing well - or she thought she had, anyway. Maybe it was just the weight of everything finally reaching a breaking point, or maybe she was overly tired. Whatever it was, the second she'd spotted Logan she'd felt tears stinging at her eyes. And when he'd pulled her into a hug she had struggled to keep herself from crumbling, managed a soft "'m fine", but her next breath came out shuddering and soon she had wrapped her arms tightly around him, burying her face in his shoulder in a poor attempt to hide the tears.
