Oh, @teasources you’re going to block me, and then stalk my blog for more posts, is that how you want to play this? Fine then, we’ll discuss things this way then. Because you blocked me, so I can’t even respond to your reblogs of MY posts.

So we’ll start with your reblog of my original post here. You’ll notice that I never actually said who is allowed to enjoy rape, and you sticking the phrase in quotations doesn’t make it so. Instead, what I asked was, “What does your survivor cred allow you access to?” The camp of thought that you belong to gatekeeps survivors’ access to fics and works that they both enjoy, and use as coping mechanisms. And once you establish a gatekeeping framework, are you not then implied to be curtailing set works based on who has gone through a particular trauma? Although it is my personal belief that anyone should be able to create and access dark materials regardless of their past, I did not voice such opinion in that post. Instead, I put myself in the shoes of those tumblr users who do believe it is necessary that only survivors dealing with their trauma be allowed to read such works. And not to read for entertainment, as you would claim that I said, but to read for coping with their trauma. You seem fond of accusing others of misquoting and twisting words, and yet yourself seem to do it quite often. Do I need to provide screencaps of what you said, or will you be satisified knowing that I can actually read?

Secondly, we’ll look at your treatment of those who responded to your post on calling out survivors on abusive behaviour. You’ll not, in my original rebuttal of your post, that I was willing to let things go. In fact, your post had already crossed my dash three times before I reached the version of it where you had engaged with jxhniarty. The reason I only choose to engage then was the language you used when referring to my friend. In case I need to remind you, you began the name calling. While previous persons had disagreed with you on such points, they made their issue with your beliefs, and not with your hygeine or your lifestyle. YOU, @teasources, were the first to make things personal. You called people trash. You called people freaks. Most notably, when you reblogged my post, I was actually preparing myself to respond to you. You had some good points, and I thought perhaps we would be able to discuss as to your true meaning behind your vague post - did you intend it for all survivors? But then you decided to continue your name calling onto me instead. I believe you used the words “trashy freak.”

And finally, complaining about unsolicited opinions when you made a call out post is not really your place. If you didn’t want to have this discussion, you shouldn’t have posted on such a public place. Your posts are inevitably going to be seen by others, and they are going to want to engage with them. Perhaps next time you go to post about such an emotional thing as trauma and survivor coping methods, you think about whether you are up for a discussion about your opinions. Additionally, I notice that several users have been rather polite to you in their responses, and gotten blocked by you all the same. Do you define disrespect as disagreeing with you? That’s not how respect works at all. I respect your right to post about your opinions, but that doesn’t tie my respect to my approval of such things.

So, let us review. You made a post that though, while admittedly vague, echoed everything that surviors engaging with dark content are told, repeatedly. You may not have said it in so many words, but surely you are aware of the culture on tumlbr that demands survivors call their enjoyment of dark fanfiction just as abusive as what they originally went through? Then, several users called out on this narrative. Instead of responding like the rational person I assume that you can be, you denied their points on the basis that they seemed to be just as abusive as anyone else, and dropped right into name calling. You blocked users who disagreed with your statements, while continuing to post their opinions on your blog, with incorrect quotes, thus rendering them unable to respond to you, while leaving you in a position to continue your name calling with no direct response.

Do that sound about right? I hope it does.

I look forward to your response, presumably in a post that I am unable to respond to directly.
