Currently i am using my time exploring product’s that feature leather elements on the product. It is an important feature because the leather serves as the material i can use my paint to put the design onto and it’s a hard wearing material which i believe is an important factor to take into consideration.
To see my idea’s painted onto leather products that have a long life-time is something i have taken into a great consideration.
I had taken my product search to a few different retail locations and set out exploring options for trainer’s. I have now picked up a pair of Nike Huarache
Which feature a great deal of leather a futuristic and mis-matched tab placement. The product is unusual and different and I feel has a 50/50 taste, but serves as a great canvas to explore onto. So my next step is to photograph the product in a Editorial style, photography that i can use for my social media platforms and as a basis for photo manipulation. I want to capture the product visually that can help to stimulate sales when i present the product on social media, although it doesn't have the physical design on the trainer as of yet, I am exploring ideas of how i will present the finished product. As my camera for capturing the product, I used a nikon D7100 and my first location was in a small photography studio based in Altrincham. Here i had access to all the professional photography equipment and also the use of a white canvas background. So i set out capturing the Nike product from different angles and from the collection i have, i chose these 3 to post to Tumblr. I also set out on an urban environment and asked a friend to model the product whilst i captured the trainer’s in their predominantly natural environment and being worn, contrasting and comparing the two presentation idea’s i am swayed towards the natural environment photo’s because they have a better background to stand out from. So from my photography exploration, i know that using a model and photographing the finished product in a environment with character, it visually appeals and I believe would predominantly gain more views on my social media.
I have recently been researching into email marketing design and would like to use the photography elements of my products to display my work, but i will also look into product photography display idea’s and explore how i will present the product photography, either online, printed in a book, printed and hung etc...
