GM Help Site Has Misleading Results
Following a recall of over 6.5 million vehicles due to defective ignition switches, GM released a feature on their website to assist consumers in determining if their vehicle was part of this massive recall. Unfortunately, federal safety regulators have declared that the help site is as defective as the switches themselves.
When you visit the help site, you will find a single field asking for your VIN to determine if your vehicle was part of the recall. The problem is, many VIN numbers that have been recalled are returning a message telling the consumer that their vehicle is not part of the recall.
There are various law firms out there including Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C. in New Jersey that are handling injury and accident claims in relation to this recall. If you have been hurt, reach out to an attorney in your area with experience handling product defect claims.
