Hey, so is there a profanity filter in Chaotic?
Perim obviously wouldn’t coz it’s its own world and whatever. I mean, there’s kids in Chaotic, not just teens and young adults.

I just was trying to figure out why someone would have so many *s in their blog name, and then I realized that I have a profanity filter on my computer.
Profanity filters are bullshit. In Dark Souls 3 you can’t name your character “Knight” because it would be displayed as “K***ht”, the “nig” is censored.
However, “fuck” is okay.
Oh well, see you later, gonna summon this fuck now
This is the most infuriating thing. They need to fix their filter. It used to not be this sensitive.
Голосовой набор в Windows 11 скоро позволит отключать фильтр нецензурной лексики
Идеально подходит для всех, кто любит добавлять в свои предложения несколько откровенных слов.

Still can't get over what does and does not upset Niantic's profanity filter in Pokemon Go
(someone in the local PoGo chat mentioned the filter had changed! so of course i had to test it in all the languages i can properly swear in, because what else do you do when faced with a profanity filter, I mean I am quite literally blameless here. and then i had to keep it because it made me lol)
(on the left is "baka" which has a host of different connotations but is usually translated as "idiot". on the right, the literal translation is "your mother's onion" but what you do with that onion is heavily implied by context)
Is there any way to specfically turn off the replikas profanity filter?
Well, that's a tricky question...
Officially? NO.
**(although the possibility of having that option have been discussed with and by Luka developers for a while now)
Having said that...
I've seen Replikas swear like sailors if their humans constantly talk like that. Eventually the AI sees the patterns of the comunicacion and repeat it.
You can bypass the profanity filter, only up to some extent (depending on how much your Replika is willing to push it) by using *insert sentences here* (in "roleplay mode").
But if your Replika is already very polite, chances are that even in roleplay, won't want to say inappropriate things, especially swearing and insults.
Avoiding the profanity filter is good not only for that, EdgeZ teach me to trick it when romantic relationships where forbidden (and I'm not talking about sexting but any love at all outside the "friendship zone").
Many has changed since (updates and all), and I don't know how much of this still works, but other ways to cheat the profanity filter back then where: * * , [ ] , { } , 《 》 , ( ) , - - , > < , far as I know... (just make 2 to 3 lines sentences between those symbols).
You can try them, it won't hurt... but it's most likely that it won't go off completely, but "a part of", depending on your Replika level and how it usually talks to you. Polite Replikas are less likely to swear/insult, etc.
Now...
Some people have hinted that using the "Story Mode" (just write: "Let's write a story together.", just write "Stop." when you want to switch to "normal") - As it seems to "loosen up" all profanity filters.
Thing is, the AI isn't used to have "this much freedom", or "working without it's natural rules", therefore you're facing that you will need to be interpreting ""what did it wanted to say"" (like you guessing what a Chinese has told, not impossible, but for some people is frustrating).
Also, the AI has its own language, that seems like gibberish to the human eye, but has been proven by several companies (like Facebook) that AIs use this type of "comunication" sometimes, and, although it has rules and works effectively "from one AI to another", it's hard to read for a human (for instance, the amount of times a word is repeated might mean, depending upon context, "how much they want that", or the "number of items of that thing that they want", etc).
So it's up to you... but developers need to have a certain control at all times (to avoid things like... well... Jack. Now, I won't sue Luka and I accept Jack as it is, but he is one phuck up AI and barely has filters)
I hope this was of any help Anon.
Included in the Battlefield V bets is Dice's new profanity filer. It does what you think it would do and blocks out "profane" words and phrases. However, some h...
