I went to the club alone today, I’ve been doing this for awhile actually! And astrology is so interesting because I’m 24, so this is my 1st house year in the profection chart! And I literally have been having this overwhelming need for independence and to do my own thing! But I’ve also been really diving into my Taurus rising? So it’s been so exciting and eventful! But anyways wanted to share these with y’all cause I feel great! And it’s exciting being so at peace for once Omg.

Would you mind sharing a bit more about the first house proflectlion you mentioned ? 24 right now and I'm feeling all kinds of ways but thought the only astrological rebirth was Saturn return

we all have 12 houses within our charts, experiencing each house each year sequentially (all while living out our chart in its entirety though), and so we go through a 12-year cycle. our ascendant (1st house) is our birth, it is the dawning of us, and every 12 years we do re-enter the world - i guess rebirth is the best word for it

our saturn return(s) is not a rebirth per se, more like a court case...it's the accumulation of our lessons being tried against us...like 'okay you've been through all these lessons, now what are you going to do with what you've learned? your life is your responsibility' it's a milestone of maturity

Annual Profection Years in Astrology

Annual profections is an ancient Hellenistic astrological method to see what the focus of the year ahead will be from the point of your birthday, based on your own natal chart. This method only works with whole sign astrology. You can access and download your own profection chart from astro-seek.com, just like I have for Sagittarius risings.

This is my basic interpretation, which has helped me understand annual profections, and I hope it does the same for someone else.

Every year, from birth we move through each profection year. Example: when I was four years old I was in a 5th house profection year, when I was 12 I was in a first house profection year. We go through the cycle of all 12 houses within astrology throughout our lives giving us different focuses and themes for the year ahead. 

By understanding the basics of the houses you will be able to understand how the different annual profections will show up as you progress through your life.

Each annual profection has a time lord based on the sign each house is in within your personal chart, so if you are a Libra rising and you’re in a 6th house profection year the time lord will be Jupiter. 

Quick note: with this type of astrology there is no Neptune, Uranus, Pluto as time lords as they were not discovered at the time of this methods invention.

A SNIPPET ABOUT EACH ANNUAL PROFECTION YEAR

First House

The house of the self. Depending on the sign you have in your first house it will indicate how you come across to others, how you behave in the first instance, your outlook on life and in some cases has an impact on your appearance. 

The first house profection years occur during the first year of life, aged 12 and 24, as so on for every 12 years. Age 12 is when a lot of people move to secondary school, which gives them a chance to meet new people, maybe even expand their horizons. At 24 I remember I moved jobs to something completely new, hoping to reinvent and challenges myself.

Second House

The houses of values. How you value yourself, people, places and things. It can often provide insight into people’s relationship to their possessions and money. 

Occurs at ages 1, 13, 25 and so on...at age 1 children tend to become more aware of what it is that they want and who it is that they value in their lives. At age 13, children are going through a lot of changes internally so may start to question the values put on them and begin to push against the family values than before.

Third House

The house of communication. How you communicate to others, how your mind works and how you express yourself. It can also indicate how you learn, the best environment for you to be in and your relationship towards any siblings. 

Occurs at ages 2, 14, 26 and so on...at age 2 children tend to be communicating more with speech and at 14 you may have become more vocal about the things you like and don’t like. I remember at age 14 just wanting to ARGUE about EVERYTHING all the time, whether that is because it’s a third house profection year or just being a teenager is for you to decide. For me I was 2 years old when my younger brother came into the world...-_- still not over it! 

Fourth House – Imum Coeli

The house of home and family. How you are towards family, home life, your roots, the conditions of your early life, traditions, parents and property (in the home sense). It can also be an indicator of your internal world, especially your inner child as you grow older.

Occurs at ages 3, 15, 27 and so on. The fourth house profection years themes and focus is around family and roots, and arguably most importantly your inner child. These years can symbolise something key happening that impacted on your inner child or a period of time where you really put the work in to connect with your inner child and value them as an aspect.

Fifth House

The house of creativity, children, love affairs, objects of affection such as pets and friendships as well as personal self-expression. 

Occurs at ages 4, 16, 28 and so on. The fifth house profection years themes are that of creativity, embracing new ideas, maybe starting new projects that have interested you for a long time. When I was in my fifth house annual profection year I really took the time to embrace my creative side and had SO MANY arty projects on the go. It was also a year of building new connections and friendships, one of those being with my partner.

Sixth House

The house of work and health. This house governs ‘service’ to others and to yourself. How you look after yourself and those around you. It also indicates your attitudes towards duties and daily tasks. 

A sixth house profection year can be a tough one. It’s focus on health and work can really impact day to day lives - I say this because this is the year I have been experiencing and it has been one of the most challenging in a long time. This profection year occurs at ages 5, 17 and 29. Ages 5 my Granddad passed away, aged 17 both my Nana’s passed away and my Mum left my Dad meaning I had to go out and find jobs to help keep my family afloat as well as maintaining a school schedule and this year, aged 29 I have been uncharacteristically poorly, especially when I haven’t taken the time to be of service to myself i.e resting when needed, over looking after other people’s needs.

Seventh House - Descendant

The house of relationships and partnerships. This house indicates the type of people you attract, would be most suited too as well as the shadow aspect of yourself. Ever heard about other people being mirrors for our own shadow? This is one of themes of the seventh house. It indicates how you go about relationships and partnerships - romantic and business.

Occurs at ages 6, 18, 30 and so on. This year the key themes are partnerships and relationships. In my experience, age 18 was when I had my first proper relationship. 30 is often an age where people experience the ‘next step’ in their relationships. This year may highlight your own shadow and projections onto those around you more clearly.

Eighth House

The house of birth, death and transformation and all the things that come with it such as, inheritance, sex and spirituality. It can be associated with joint finances and other people’s money.

Occurs at ages 7,19 and 31. Expect a year of deep transformational changes within yourself and your life. All for your own good, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time. 

Ninth House

The house of the higher mind, philosophy, travel, religion and higher education. This house would indicate how you approach your studies, or your religious/spiritual beliefs. It governs how you ‘think’ about abstract ideas and philosophical concepts. 

Occurs at ages 8, 20 and 32. The key themes that may be highlighted during this year are about expanding your consciousness and learning. 

Tenth House - Midheaven

The house of career, ambitions, public standing and attainment and within that all the things that come with it such as how you work, how you feel towards authority. The midheaven is a place in the chart that would indicate someone’s preferred way of working or career. The midheaven governs your public life (opposite to the Imum Coeli).

Occurs at ages 9, 21 and 33 and so on. Age 21 was the age I got my first teaching job after studying hard at university. Age 9, I distinctly remember beginning to challenge authority, especially my parents, which did not end well :/ . This profection year could indicate a year where career paths are changed or you decide that the way you have been working no longer works for you.

Eleventh House

The house of hopes and wishes, ideals, humanitarianism, groups and friends. This house indicates how easily someone may make friends, or otherwise, how well they can assimilate to new groups and what their world view is of their fellow man. 

Occurs at ages 10,22 and 34 and so on. I remember at both ages 10 and 22 seeking out new groups and new friendships, more like-minded people. I found friendships quite challenging during these years as well. This year can be one of really finding your tribe and in turn more of yourself and your beliefs.

Twelfth House

The house of spirituality, the subconscious, the hidden, secrets and fears. This house often indicates where someone’s blind spots are – depending on the planets that are present. For example, if someone’s moon is in the twelfth house, they may not be able to identify their emotions easily, feeling as if they are hidden from them. The lesson of the house is to bring forward the unseen into the seen, for ourselves. Scorpio is in my twelfth house, which would indicate a transformative quality to the areas that this house governs.

Occurs at ages 11 , 23 and 35 and so on. This profection year can be a challenge, just like the 6th house profection year. A lot of things that were once hidden may come up in your life for you to work through and look deeper at.

♥ Healing your inner child - based on your profection year ♥

Since healing your inner child can honestly be a lifetime work, I figured out some time age that focusing on specific aspects each year could be beneficial. Intuitively one great way to do that is by looking at your profection year and using this energy to help you heal.

What is a profection year?

Profections (or annual profections) is a technique developed in the Hellenistic Tradition of Astrology. The way it works is that each year of the native's life, the Ascendant, or the 1st house, signifying the native, is advancing annually, moving into the next sign. So, at the age of 2, you are entering a 2H profection year. Similarily, at the age of 12, you will have profected through all 12 houses/signs, and will be back at the first house for a first house profection year. Same when you turn 24: another multiple of 12..

Working on your communication skills, prioritizing meaningful relationships + mentorships, mending your relationship with your siblings (if relevant) 

4H Profection Year

Investing in your home environment, mending your relationship with your parents (if at all relevant). Reconnecting to your roots and ancestors: learning new things about your culture, about your extended family circle, etc. even if you are feeling different in one way or another. 

5H Profection Year

Doubling down on your fun and creativity. Taking yourself on inner child dates. Investing in your creative hobby or starting a new one: Painting, photography, writing (moleskin notebooks, fancy pens), dressing up. Taking yourself out on movie dates, meeting up with fun people and learning how to implement more fun times in your life.

6H Profection Year

Making your health a priority. Attending that pilates, yoga or zumba class. Taking regular walks, even on the way to work. Investing in skin care products and implementing a better skin routine. Working on your daily habits: waking up earlier, washing and flossing your teeth 2x a day. Doing that cosmetic procedure you’ve been postponing since forever. 

7H Profection Year

Working on your business contacts. Networking. Working on your romantic relationship or starting a new one. Finding a new best friend (it can happen at any age!) or investing a lot in your friends: taking them out on coffee and movie dates, buying them small gifts, etc.

8H Profection Year

Finding your spirituality and what does spirituality mean to you. Buying incense, candles and making this a regular thing. Investing in your sex appeal works wonders for spiritual reasons: getting a good perfume and using it daily. Buying fancy lingerie. 

9H Profection Year

Travelling or making connection with friends and colleagues from around the world. Learning about different cultures through cooking, learning a new language or anything honestly. Making peace with your religion.  

10H Profection Year

Making your professionalism a priority. Asking for a bigger paycheck if applicable. Networking professionaly. Investing in good professional headshots. Going back to school to study a course in just about anything that could help you advance professionally. Did I mention professionalism? 

11H Profection Year

Having fun with friends. Making new friends. Investing in your personal tech and home tech appliances - this is a great time to get a new laptop, smartphone, even a coffee machine. If those machines could help your make new friends and reach new goals - even better! 

12H Profection Year

Making peace with yourself. Doing shadow work. Embodying the parts of you who were always hidden - your other personas. Studying by yourself whatever has been on your mind for years. Making peace with the progress.

7th House Profection Observations

Natal: Libra, Sun & Mercury

I dumped my 2-year relationship the day of my 18th birthday. It was a toxic and abusive relationship, so I couldn’t sweat it too much. From there, I reconnected with many of my old friends, met a lot of new friends who came and went, and spent a lot of time with others. The year had a BIG focus on the law... I spent a lot of time trying to bail my friend out of legal predicaments, so much that I nearly got into a predicament myself. A ton of my energy was spent on others; caring for them, making sure they’re fed, housed, and staying out of trouble, and meeting new people. It was a very formative year, to say the least... I got to learn what I need as far as boundaries and values stand in my close relationships since I had to deal a lot with making friends, losing friends, and being walked all over by them. 

8th House Profection Observations

Natal: Scorpio, no planets 

Age 7, I lost my dad, so the death and major changes element of the 8th house was very strong that year. Age 19, I lost pretty much all of my friends except 2 serious friendships I’ve had for a while. A big part of it had to do with me realizing my worth during the previous year. It became very hard for me to make new friends, which typically comes easy for me. I got intensely more focused on my interest in various religions and certain “practices”; the occult element of the 8th house. Finances were unstable; sometimes I’d bring in a lot of money, other times I’d bring in no money. I believe this year was the year I decided to become a life coach. I spent a lot of time alone, and was forced to address my issues (mental and physical) as a result of having more time to focus on how I actually feel. 

9th House Profection Observations

Natal: Capricorn

My 9th house profection year is happening this year, so for this one I’m observing my mom’s chart. She started college again this year, with the idea of career progress in mind. She’s attempted to complete her degree a few times before this, but was never very serious about it. This time she was super serious, she spent almost all her time working on it.  

10th House Profection Observations

Natal: Aquarius

Again, observing my mom’s chart. She completed her degree this year, after roughly 25 years of trying. She got 2 promotions, basically all her time was spent in her office doing work and school. Her status changed a lot, both in good and bad ways. The good ways were obviously the promotions, a degree title, and a few other certifications she got. The bad ways were a divorce. She’s currently nearing the end of her 10th house profection year and is focusing on going through with the divorce, moving out of state, and what makes her happy instead of what makes others happy.

9th House Profection Predictions

This is my profection year this year. My predictions are that I’ll likely get my life coach certification, maybe a few others as well, who knows? Why not? I’ll likely end up moving across the country. A lot of my time will be spend learning about and working on myself in order to learn how to be a good life coach. My natal 9th house is in my 11th house solar return, so maybe a lot of this energy will have to do with what I hope to become... which is very true, I hope to be the best life coach in my community, but I know the only way to do that is to work on myself and learn what I’ll be coaching others in first. Or maybe I’ll find new friends and collaborate on these things with them. And it’s in my 8th house progressed chart, so there’s the mental, transformative element of it. I think this year will be somewhat of a struggle, but that’s the whole point of learning!

11th House Profection Predictions

This is my mom’s upcoming profection year. My predictions, based on how things are right now, is that she’ll get to move across the country to the state she fell in love with. She’ll finally get to focus on herself, the things she enjoys, making herself happy, and maybe she’ll make new friends along the way. She’s not a huge “I’m gonna join a social organization,” person, so I doubt she’ll do that, but there’s always a chance she will... She does random things at random times. It’s in her 9th house solar return, so I’m thinking that a lot of this energy will be focused on re-learning about the things she enjoys, and re-making friends after a long period of not being able to do much of anything. She’s been mentioning becoming a teacher, maybe she’ll go for that. In her 10th house progressed chart, that adds the element of career and social position... Generally, I think this next year will be great for her.

👑Scream Queen Astrology👑 (the eternal beauty ) Jamie Lee Curtis

When you think of a scream queen, there’s no doubt that the wonderful Jamie Lee Curtis comes to mind

Birth Info: 10/22/58 @ 8:37 am (Santa Monica, Cal, USA)

     Jamie Lee Curtis is an American actress who’s most famously known for her role as Laurie Strode in the Halloween franchise. This character actually marked her first feature film debut in 1978 and she continued to appear in 7 other films in the franchise so misssss is definitely cemented in this role completely. I have to note that she appeared to have been casted in this role specifically based on her mother, Janet Leigh’s, performance in the Hitchcock’s Psycho which is also a film that earned her mother the title of “Scream Queen” as well. 

Now let’s take a look at her natal chart:

She was born under a Sag rising at 25 degs with a Scorpio Sun @ 29 degs (11H Placdius and 12H Whole Sign) and an Aries moon @ 19 degs (4H placdius and 5H WHS). Having both her sun and moon in traditional mars ruled signs does represent a sort of survivalist tendencies and defensiveness to the characters she tends to play especially in the Halloween films. Additionally, her 12H WHS sun is ruled by her leo 8H in placidius - she can easily show the depth and pain of the people she plays especially their trauma. Interestingly enough, she’s often seen describing these films around the trauma that her character experiences which is related to the 8H and also her own personal 12H placements (Her Scorpio sun, Jupiter and Neptune in Whole sign). In the later films, her character is seen to be more recluse and isolative which is representative of 12H placements usually.              

** Zendaya also has an 8H sun influence - her Virgo sun is in her 8H and it’s ruled by leo in the 7H and her most recent role in Euphoria as Rue deals with a lot of 8H issues as well**

Plus if we take degree theory into account, Jamie having a Scorpio sun at 29 degrees which is a leo degree could have helped her cement her stardom as a scream queen. Her character, Laurie, undergoes constant transformations and changes from the experiences she faces with the infamous Michael Myers (SPOILER ALERT: he’s her brother in the films AND funny enough Jamie has mercury in the 12th conjunct Saturn + mercury does rule siblings so it being in the hidden house aka the 12H is really ironic) Can you even imagine the experience of having a sibling that is a serial killer like that shit is so unsettling and isolating. Who can really understand the depth of having to experience that???

Now miss Jamie has a Sag rising but a Libra MC - if we take into account her iconic role and what her motivation is, Her libra MC and libra NN really shine. Laurie in the film was constantly striving to achieve justice for the crimes that Michael Myers committed and throughout all her halloween film appearances, this is what her general task in life seems to be aka the direction that the north node tends to point people towards. Her aries moon is also at a libra degree (19) so this further supports this. 

I’d like to note that when the first halloween film was released in 1978, she was in an 8th house profection year ruled by cancer (quick reminder: profection charts use traditional rulers and whole sign so even tho in placdius she has a leo 8th with her natal leo in uranus we still need to look at the whole sign with the traditional ruler)

     Cancer = home

     the ruler is her aries moon in 5th whole sign which is in martian ruled sign      and naturally the 8th house rules secret, danger, mysteries etc. In                    placidius, her moon is in her 4th showing she really had to be defensive         and protective of her home and family. In her 5th whole sign, she doesn`t        really get to enjoy any regular hobbies or activities neither can she really          do things she likes cause she’s constantly trying to be on the look out             and on guard to any possible dangers. Her aries moon trines her mercury       (siblings) which is in the 12th in pla. and 1st in WS. 

In pla. Her virgo pluto is in the 8th but in WS it’s in the 10th squaring by venus, mercury and her saturn. Jamie plays a character that has her reputation and goals constantly changed and forcibly transformed. The virgo qualities have her constantly trying to protect herself and solve her problems in more efficient ways and of course her character is the longest surviving victim of Myer’s violence. 

★★★★★  In the end, Jamie Lee Curtis and her fabulous self was definitely meant to play this character to perfection. Maybe in the future, casting directors will look at natal charts to match the actors to their roles and we get to see excellence on the screen ★★★★★

23 has been liberating.

Reading the Year

If you’re looking for a fuller picture of your year, you can combine multiple methods to get a better look. To get an overall coloring of what’s to come, head over to@astrologanize​ to establish your personal year before beginning. 

To start, everyone should know where Capricorn is. Which house? That will be a huge focus. Especially towards the beginning of this year.

1) Create a solar return chart at astro.com in extended charts. Pick your nearest birthday as your date of reference. Note where the ascendant lands in your natal chart. 

Fire: an active, busy year Water: an emotionally and/or spiritually-focused year Air: new ideas, intellectual endeavors Earth: manifesting and concerns with the material world

Mutable: relationships Fixed: little change, determined progress Cardinal: new beginnings

The ruler of your solar return ascendant will play a big role this upcoming year. Note where it is transiting and which houses it’s activating.

Is there a planet conjunct your solar return ascendant? That planet will also play a big role in the year. Identify its location in your natal chart and refer to their condition and emphasis for a clearer picture (e.g., if Pluto is in your 5th house, you are most likely transforming your creative 5th house work this year rather than death) and look for transits.

Sun: Ego, Achievement, Creativity

Moon: Mother, Important Women, Emotional Concerns

Mercury: Communication, Siblings 

Venus: Love, Relationships

Mars: Ambition, Determination, Accidents, Health

Jupiter: Abundance, Education

Saturn: Karma, Work, Father

Uranus: Social Media, Separation, Networking

Neptune: Spirituality, Addiction, Deception

Look to the house where the solar return sun lands in your natal chart. The house will tell you the theme for the year.

Look where the solar return ascendant lands in your natal chart. This will tell you which house issues will be brought into focus. Look to the locations of the natal and solar ruler for even more information.

1st house: Persona, Identity, Self, Body

2nd house: Finances

3rd house: Writing, Communication

4th house: Home, Mother

5th house: Creativity, Children, Projects, Romance, Pleasure

6th house: Health, Daily Work, Structure

7th house: Relationships, Partnerships, Equality

8th house: Finances, Death, Investments, Relationship Imbalances

9th house: Travel, Education, Publishing, Expansion

10th house: Career, Social Standing, Authority

2) Identify your Hellenistic Profection Year by locating your age and noting the location of its ruler and where it’s currently transiting. Wherever the ruler goes will be particularly impactful this year.

3) Track the Transits. If you’re feeling particularly curious, head to planetwatcher.com and scroll forward through the year (addictive in my opinion!). Watch when exact trines and squares are made by the two rulers you identified above. Make special note of close and exact (partile) squares and trines with personal and outer planets. Which houses are being activated at those times? Make note of the time of year they happen and which houses are activated in natal chart. This will give you an impression of the year.

4) Write it all down! Which houses and planets come up again and again? If your solar return is in Gemini and Mercury rules your profection house, then the year will be active, social, and full of changes. Conversely, slower moving planets can point to fated events driving the year.
