Take Two {Shere & Nathaniel}

Nathaniel quite enjoyed Hatter’s. Both for the tea and the snippets he ccaught of others. Some he knew, some he was learning. Either way it was a great place for information even if it lacked a certain class. A certain ambience.

This town, this world was growing tiresome and Nathaniel grew bored as time continued and no one interested him.

Skimming the book he was reading Nathaniel’s attention drifted as he watched a bumbling human stumble through the cafe sighing when he tripped sending his scolding beverage over to a table with multiple papers. If only for the sake of the paper and the work did Nathaniel lift his hand freezing the liquid so it slide across the table taking a piece of paper with it but none the less not ruining anything.

This town had too many clumsy people.

Nathaniel sure as hell wasn’t buying another for him.

“Are you papers ruined?” Nathaniel questioned instead ignoring the person apologizing.

Broke The Mold || Shere + Clara

With her success in tracking down the people she’d made nice with in the dream, she felt slightly guilty for avoiding one of the people who stood out the most to her in it. 

No, not Tigg— just her dad. 

And considering Clara’s relationship with her own parents (which had ceased to exist ever since she had left that house), working up the nerve to face him had taken her the most time. He had just been so friggin’ nice. She knew Tigg, the real one, had been through some serious stuff in her life so it was only right that she get to have a nice relationship with someone who cared about her! 

It didn’t stop her from feeling any less jealous of it. Which was stupid, she knew, because it had only been in the dream that they had even met and had any kind of relationship there. 

Still, she felt like she needed to say thank you somehow. So she went out and got him a new tie (because she couldn’t think of what else to give him and she had been able to afford it,) and found his office at the university. The door was open but she stayed on the other side of the threshold and knocked against the frame. “Uhm — Professor?”

No Appointment Needed || Shere + Eric

A while back, Mr. Moon had suggested that Eric go speak to one of the professors at the university in his chosen branch of study. Eric had heard this, had taken the advice to heart, and yet had not done it. Honestly, he had been waiting around for confirmation that he had even got in to PrideU, otherwise he figured the professor would just kick him out of their office. So he had waited, he had gotten in by the skin of his teeth, and— he still hadn’t gone to meet with anyone because by that time he had just forgotten.

Then, one day, the memory had struck him on his way home from work. That was all it took to turn around and start his journey to the university. 

Remembering where the department was from his tour of the campus (which had also been impromptu and unauthorized), Eric walked down the halls until he found a door that was open. A man sat inside, and he looked pretty professional sitting there, didn’t he? Very professor chic. 

It was worth an ask, anyways. And if he wasn’t who Eric was looking for then maybe he could Eric find that person instead.

“Excuse me, sir.” Eric stepped into the room, just a few paces forward over the threshold. He wore a bright smile and his work uniform. “Do you teach for the Zoology Department?”

Long Time No Sea || Eric + Shere

For once in his life, Eric was feeling pretty good about school. After getting some good (for Eric Andersen) grades and liking all his courses, he really had nothing to complain about! Other than all the boring stuff! Which there was a lot— but he supposed that couldn’t be avoided when it came to books and readings and all that stuff. Now, though, he knew there was hope for himself and that there was a light at the end of the tunnel when he got through it all. A future that he was looking forward to living. 

First thing was first, though. He still had to get a degree to move on to the next thing. Which meant he needed to talk with those in the program about what his next steps were concerning next semester and those classes. If he wanted to take the ones he wanted regarding marine wildlife then he was going to need to get himself set up for it. 

This was why he had scheduled a meeting with Professor Khan and had showed up right on time. Eric settled himself into the chair on the other side of the man’s desk after knocking on the door and being invited in. “It’s good to see you, as always, Professor! How’ve you been? Good I hope?”
