          harry canted his head to one side as he saw the king shift from where he had tied him below the deck of the lost revenge. hidden in the back of the galley, harry had tied him to a chair, rope tight enough to restrain him but loose enough that it wouldn’t cut off his blood circulation. with uma working the night shift, and meeting with mal to negotiate the terms of their deal, harry had been placed in charge of keeping an eye on their hostage.

harry’s smile stretched across his face slowly as pale blue eyes met olive green. harry sat with his legs straddling his chair, the back pressed up against his chest and his arms folded over the high back. unlike ben, harry was more than comfortable where he was.    “    nice  of  you  to  join  me,  king.    ”

          it had taken several seconds between opening the door to the smithy and allowing ben inside for gonzo to remember why exactly the king of auradon was standing on his doorstep. it wasn’t that gonzo had forgotten that ben had offered to arrive on the isle with fresh, clean auradon water, as it was that gonzo hadn’t really expected the king of auradon leave the comforts of his own country and the safety of wherever it had been he was staying at, for the isle just to bring him water. the longer gonzo had thought about it, the more absurd it had become until gonzo was taking the water and laughing at it like it was the funniest thing in the world.

          “ holy shit, you really came all the way over here to bring me water. ” gonzo said once his laughter had died down enough, he waved ben inside as he stepped away from the door, “ i didn’t think you would. i mean, i wouldn’t think anyone other than maybe someone from the crew would but — ” gonzo rambled on, listing crewmates he thought would drop everything to bring him water.

no, she wasn’t the type of girl that someone like ben would think of as anything more, and uma wasn’t going to delude herself into thinking so. besides, she had goals to accomplish, goals that getting too close to ben would endanger.

she had escaped one cage, finally. there was no way she was walking into another so easily.
