JMM IS HIRING: PROGRAM ASSISTANT
The Jewish Museum of Maryland, a dynamic, growing museum of regional Jewish history and culture, seeks a creative and enthusiastic Program Assistant to assist with the delivery and development of our public programs and special events. The Program Assistant will work to help execute our robust calendar of public programs, with an emphasis on our growing family audience.
In this role, the Program Assistant will collaborate with the education and curatorial departments to create innovative programs and events based on the Museum’s exhibits, collections, historic sites, core themes, and mission. As a part of the team tasked with learning and visitor experience, the Program Assistant will also lead Museum tours for school groups, adult groups and walk-in visitors and assist at the Museum’s front desk and store.
Candidate must possess skills in the following areas:
Writing and public speaking to deliver educational content
Computers (graphic design software a plus)
Customer service and working in a team environment
Program development and family programming
Marketing experience
Creativity and the ability to problem-solve
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
One to three years relevant professional experience are required
Clean driver’s license
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours a week) paid at $17.95-$20.50 per hour, Sunday thru Thursday with occasional Friday and evening hours. We offer a competitive compensation package.
