Everhaven and Project Unicorn, few of the WIP projects at Phoenix Labs that were cancelled by Forte because they couldn't implement Forte's blockchain tech into the games. Recently, Forte mentioned they're "currently not looking for new partners or funding on paused projects". But this still leaves an opening for game companies and publishers to offer to buy Everhaven and Project Unicorn at their core forms.

Game developer PirateSoftware already expressed interest in buying Everhaven and reached out to Forte a while ago. Are there other game devs out there itching to negotiate with Forte on buying Everhaven and Project Unicorn from them?

Για την έκθεση αυτή, πραγματοποιήθηκε open call σε καλλιτέχνες που ενδιαφέρθηκαν να συμμετάσχουν στη δράση μας με τα έργα τους. Η εκδήλωση για την παρουσίαση του Project Unicorn: Untagged, συμπεριλήφθηκε στο πρόγραμμα του 5ου Thessaloniki Pride.

Like Everhaven, Project Unicorn was a WIP game at Phoenix Labs, but was cancelled by the company’s new owner, Forte, a blockchain company. Unicorn was set as a racing multiplayer where you bond with collectible mounted creatures in a magical world.

The following game artwork is by Anneliese Mak, Kimberly Parker, Khoa Viet, Hien Le and Justin Chan

Apart from bonding with your collectible creatures, they would’ve had different color schemes based on elements.

Like Everhaven, Project Unicorn had been in development since 2021 and was cancelled back in early 2024. This passion project was scrapped because Forte didn’t see it useful in implementing their blockchain tech into the game; a fate shared by Everhaven and other projects that were cancelled at Phoenix Labs.
