165 unique #CrazyHawasanian characters were made by the super awesome audience at our @ProjectHawas and @Onqoud talk about "Collaboration and The Arts" as part of @SaudiDesignWeek! Blank cards with instructions were handed out to the audience at the beginning of the talk and each member of the audience was asked to draw one part of the character and then pass it on to a person next to them to draw the next part and so on till it was complete! The whole thing took about 15 minutes. All cards were then collected and made into a surprise art installation that was placed at the auditorium exit for everyone to enjoy! It is incredible the amount of spirit and story you guys have put into these characters! Thank you so much for collaborating with us; it has been such a great honor! Stay awesome, and remember to: give collaboration a chance! #WeLoveCollaboration #SaudiDesignWeek #ProjectHawas #Onqoud @ShadowsMag @OasisMagazine Posting now on Hawas Instagram! :D

Time lapse 5 of 6 of the @ProjectHawas Sgalah project: We had such a great reception on opening day (5/10/2013) at the Bahrain International Design Week (@bidw2013)! This is footage of some of the visitors as they entered into our installation and took in the video, music, and whole atmosphere! We had such interesting reactions and we can't wait to share them with you! More to come! @onqoud @shadowsmag #HawasSgalah #ProjectHawas
Creative Collaboration is such a beautiful rewarding thing! #ProjectHawas as a group was born out of an obsession with collaboration, experimentation, and creation! These 14+ Saudi-based artists strive to fuse together their minds, souls, and individual perspectives to create large-scale collaborative artworks that transcend the experiences of any one individual artist; Project Hawas’s launching project, “Sgalah”, is the solidification of this philosophy, and will be launched tomorrow in Bahrain at @bidw2013. Project Hawas was incubated earlier this year by @onqoud and @shadowsmag. The #HawasSgalah artists are: @dalalshaikh @dselectived @fidaart @ghadaos @hebz @iamanaero @marwah_m @mlawand @naturalxtc @sundusart @walmujalli @yousefalshaikh @zedani
Shhh.... listen.... ✨🎩🌹😎✨ I am super proud to be part of @ProjectHawas's launching project; a large-scale collaborative art installation, titled "Sgalah", which will be exhibited in Bahrain at @BIDW2013 from 5-7th of December! #ProjectHawas, @onqoud, and @shadowsmag would love to invite you to share this great experience with us! If you want you can also share this as a comment: - - - Our manifesto and synopsis: In a regional art scene that advocates art creation as a solo effort, a group of 14+ Saudi-based artists came together to challenge this status quo and redefine art creation in the region as a more collaborative team-based effort. As such, Project Hawas was born as an artist collective group with a philosophy centered around the obsession with collaboration, experimentation, and creation; fusing together their minds, souls, and individual perspectives to create large-scale artworks that transcend the experiences of any one individual artist. Project Hawas's launching project, "Sgalah", is the solidification of this philosophy. The main subject of this large-scale collaborative art installation is the joint obsessions of the participating 14 artists, which have been molded into the form of a video and music piece that will be projected on 400 wooden planks suspended from and between 190 sgalah/scaffolding elements. The sgalah itself represents the "platform of solidarity" that supports these obsessions.
