Australia - New South Wales - Sydney - July 2014

For the majority of our year in Australia we spent our time working with promotional companies in Sydney. When arriving in Australia I made the point of stating that if I couldn’t get a job within my field, I wanted one that was completely out there, a job that I would never have done if i’d stayed in the UK.

This job definitely fulfilled my wishes! We spent our time making complete muppets of ourselves, dressing up as various objects or creatures. From ATMs to Giant E’s, from big ginger dolls to Jess embracing her natural ginger self and completing modelling shoots for Buderim Ginger, leading to her appearance in the Sydney Newspaper (claim to fame).

We also worked on The Magnum campaign, which was 6 days a week for 2 months. Jess was managing (which you can imagine went down a treat with me) and I was a Pleasure maker. Interpret that as you like, but that was genuinely my job title. It was an intense couple of months, we ate chocolate by the bucket load and ice cream by the gallon. How we weren’t obese I have no idea! Once it had finished we were gonna sack off promo and get office jobs so we could enjoy summer.

It was a lot of fun, and although it was something that many laughed at through our promo journey, it was a job that we will always look back on and remember as outrageously entertaining and laid back.
