Ten Random Facts:
I don't usually do these type of posts, but a very supportive follower challenged me, so here are ten random facts about myself:
I know how to juggle - good enough to perform with three or four balls, and I can manage about 20 seconds with five.
The cat in my profile picture is named Ophelia, and I got her at the age of 19 shortly after moving out of my parent's house. She's lived with me in 5 cities in 3 provinces for the past 15 years.
I love fresh fruit, but don't like raisins, apple pie, or really any fruits warmed or baked.
Sometimes when I'm playing with the kids (Lego, or making a fort, etc), I look up and realize they've gone to another room, and I've been playing with their toys by myself.
I'm only 5' 6'' tall, but my best friends growing up were always the biggest kids in the class.
I'm usually cheerful and positive, but all my favorite media (books, music, movies) are quite "dark".
The music I love best is all from the 90's, not coincidentally the time in my life when my heart was broken the most.
My dad is a therapist, and probably the best man I know.
I left a job teaching 1st-year math courses to be a mailman full-time (and I'm still doing it 10 years later).
I am married to my best friend, and making her laugh with a good joke is probably the finest thing I can think of.
Thanks to adialogue for the challenge! I actually find writing about myself sort of difficult... writing that list took me about three times as long as my average science/philosophy post.
In the same spirit it was passed to me, I might pass this challenge on to another blogger... someone who works hard on beautiful posts, but that might - like me - enjoy a little prodding to share something about themselves. What do you say, propaedeuticist? Care to share?

Interesting about section. Why neuroscience?
Thanks. I picked neuroscience for a few reasons. For one, I've always been really interested in the science behind consciousness. Its an interesting philosophical question, who we are and why we think and I'd prefer to seek the answer in terms of physics and biology. Two, after being in the army, I decided I wanted to work toward advancing prosthetic devices that can deliver artificial sensory information. I hope to get involved in projects that focus on delivering electrical stimuli in a brain machine interface system.
Some people have thought that triptych referred to the number of pictures in the photoset. It refers to the meteorological conditions, lightning rainbow and tornado, hence 'meteorological triptych'.
AH! Yes, this makes a whole lot of sense now. Thanks for educating me on that!
