Franziska has a one year old neapolitan mastiff called Maria in honor to her older sister. She adopted her as a puppy once she decided to left Interpol and stablish herself in America.
Maria is basically a gigantic hurricane and even tho she is already one yeal old she doesn’t seem to be entirely used to her big dimensions yet: she stomps against things and people a lot and she even made Franziska fell one time or two.
Adult Maria is 29 inches / 73 cms tall and 60 kg / 132.277 lb. Yes, she very big.
Maria might seem scary but Franziska did not trained her to be an attack dog. She is very protective of her master, however.
Franziska loves to take Maria on walks mostly because of the expressions she founds in other people’s faces --mostly of them intimidated--, wich mades her very proud. However, Maria is not really intimidating: she is extremely friendly towards Franziska and kids in general, and doesn’t seem to care about regular adult human beings as long as they are not touching Franziska.
She identifies Franziska’s mood very well and follows her everywhere when she senses she is kind of down.
She rarely barks but when she does it is a deep, scary sound. She usually needs only one to make her point.
She seems to enjoy sitting besides Franziska as she reads her files or does some paperwork and she can stay like that for hours.
She might drool a lot but hey, she is perfect(TM) that way.
