We complete all bonus trials for the Guardian Angel achievement.

We earn the Trial By Fire trophy and unlock all of the bonus trials.

We do the Pauper's Drop trial 3 and Simon Wales' Church trials 1 and 2, earning the Get a Bigger Bucket trophy. We also unlock the Fine Art, Rescuing Animatic, and Publicity Renders progress rewards.

We gather ADAM in Persephone Cellblock F to earn the Acid Test trophy and unlock the harvesting animatic. Then we return to the Adonis Baths to earn an A+ and the Perfect Protector achievement. We also revisit Atlantic Express and Pauper's Drop Market for three more stars.

As you may have guessed I haven't gotten enough Bioshock 2 yet.

Luckily we have the Protector Trials to do still.

I'm still working my way through them, but I'm really enjoying this, level based gameplay.

It's a lot of fun. The gambit they send you through can be really challenging at times, and honestly I can't do more than a few in a row because they tire me out. It's a shame the climax of the main game didn't have something as intense as some of these trials.

But the way they limit your equipment makes for some really fun scenarios.

First you have a limited selection of weapons and plasmids. Then you only have so much starting ammo, and no starting money.

You need to either make every shot count, or leave your Sister in the middle of the stage to restock, after getting money from previous kills that round.

It's a great dynamic.

My earliest runs I was doing as much meleeing as possible, made more effective by the occasional electro bolt.

Other than it just being a fun series of challenges, it's letting me explore sections of the game I didn't really encounter during my playthrough.

Firstly, I hardly did any of the protecting your Sister gather missions. I just didn't think killing the other Big Daddies was right.

But here, you just start with your own Sister, so I get that experience without dealing with the moral questionableness of killing a gentle giant to abduct his daughter.

And then of course you have the plasmid selection that I never dabbled with.

Summoning turrets, and decoys.

Charging cyclone traps with other plasmids.

Just killing everyone with bees!

Not to mention discovering that the Hack Tool's Mini Turrets are actually really good if you're staying in one place long enough.

(let's be honest, that didn't happen much in the main game)

I'm looking forward to tackling Minerva's Den eventually, but I seem to not already own that DLC for some reason, so who knows when I'll get around to that.

I was thinking to get the Bioshock 2 Protector Trials. Should I get it?
