It is where their world and life began the birthplace of Chingishnish and home of Wiyot, the creator. Puvungna is where many ceremonies and celebrations are held. A place where the ancestor poles peacefully sleep.”
California State University of Long Beach (CSULB) has been dumping soil and debris on the sacred Indigenous site, Puvunga, belonging to the Acjachemen and Tongva people. CSLUB also has plans to turn the site into a parking lot.
