My tribute to Takaya . . This one was so hard for me to finish, or to call it finished to be exact . . not only because it has been a rather long time since I last painted, but because it felt so sad, I felt heartbroken all the time and still do . . No living soul especially as remarkable as Takaya should suffer this fate, being gunned down by a coward from a safe distance for absolutely no reason whatsoever . . this is not a sport, it should be called what it is "barbarism" . . . My only hope is that Takaya's tragic loss will save the remaining wolves of British Columbia from a similar fate . . I know that @pacificwild organization is working on it and I implore those of you who see this post to go visit their website and take the action that you can to help in ending the recreational killing of wolves, whether it is signing the petition or making a donation . . I repeat my statement in my previous post, I believe that wildlife belongs to us all to protect and cherish no matter where we live . . I also believe that we are all connected on this marvelous sphere, we don't own it we just evolved to be its dominant species, we should do better in exercising this dominion . . . I am very grateful for photographer Cheryl Alexander for sharing Takaya's story, celebrating his life and honoring his memory . . here's the account @takayalonewolf . . . Finally, it is hard to do such a wonderful creature justice in a painting, but I tried my best . . I hope you like it . . . . . . Much love 💕
