alright team of maybe 3-4 protégé fans, i will now propose my favorite headcanon:

assuming neither are dead, i think the heir and the protégé could and should be best friends, but in the way of directly enabling each other's worst habits

the heir has access to quite a few more trinkets and relics of the occult that the protégé couldn't even imagine, much less what he saw on that one trip to the estate, and it's awfully hard to resist that siren call of one of their favorite fascinations
