Thermodynamic systems
Thermodynamics is the science of energy transfer. It is based around 3 laws which govern a specific view of chemical reactions, a view called the prototypical system. The prototypical system is composed of three parts:
sigma (can’t do greek letters), the reactive system, which is where the actual chemistry happens
theta, the thermal reservoir, which exchanges thermal energy with sigma
wt., the weight system, which exchanges mechanical energy with sigma, usually via volume changes. In open systems, wt. is the atmosphere
