So today I sat in the waiting room of a hospital, together with my girlfriend. We don't really hide our sexuality because we live in quite a tolerant country. So we sat there, holding hands as she was leaning on my shoulder. After a while I noticed about 5 elderly (sorry) women staring at us. I'm fine with the staring, really. I've been out for years now so staring? okay. But the moment I gave my girlfriend a kiss because she went out for a cigarette I heard 2 of those women talking to each other. They made sure I could hear things like "Did you see that?", "Can't believe they can do this in public", "look at her she's dressed like a guy", "they should be ashamed.'
I didn't do or say anything. Not a thing. I was tired and had been sitting there for the past 2 hours. But in my head I had said, no screamed at them. Please, to all these two women and the rest of the world who gets affected every time time they see a gay couple: Go home, lock yourself up, and get out the moment you ARE ready for the f'in 21st century! These are moments I hate. Because those people sure as hell don't react at all whenever they see a hetero couple make out.
I'm not the girl who goes all "I will kiss you until it seems like I'm eating you", so until that point, I don't think I deserve any comments about giving my girlfriend a stupid kiss, and I hope I'm not the only one.
