Currently reading: I'm reading several things! Current book is The Long Game, because if I am not consuming hr content, who am I? My current fic is Half Agony, Half Hope by CorvidCordelia/ @gorgeousundertow , which is a Heated Rivalry/Persuasion rewrite and ughhhhh it's too good and angsty. The writing is truly brilliant. And current manga is Lovesick Dog by Songhyel, and it's so pretty and tender and real

Last film: 10Dance. A Japanese bl about two rival dancers who reluctantly join forces to win a competition. IT WAS SO GOOOOD 😭 the chemistry, the dancing, the cinematography, ughhh. I really really hope there's gonna be a sequel

Last series: Heated Rivalry. Again. I would call it a problem if I didn’t enjoy it so

Pov: me (Ilya) unable to keep my hands off HR (Shane), and HR (Shane) getting ready to fuck me (Ilya) and break my heart

Sweet/Savory/Salty: I'm a savory gal all the way. Tapas is my love language. Give me some cheese and I'll do my lil cheese dance. If I have something sweet, I need to follow it with something savory later.

Tea/Coffee: Coffe in the morning, tea in the evening. I make an oat milk latte before work, drink black coffee while I'm there, and then usually have some tea in the evening.

Working on: Haven't been working too much on fic because moving is stressful and drains my creative juices. BUT we seem to have landed somewhat, because I suddenly added like 3000 words to Words We Use in the Shadows, my long Azris poetry au that I haven't touched in over a year. Which is exciting! I really wanna see that fic through, and suddenly it feels like I have a direction for it again, even though I haven't really changed the plan much. It probably has more to do with my mind space than anything, but I'm very grateful for it ❤️

Oh, and maybe the fact that I spent my Christmas gift cards on the Marcel Proust collector's box and now get to look at the beautiful spines every day, haha

Just wanted to ask if you plan on continuing "words we use in the shadows"

Hi! So I've gotten this question quite a lot, which is understandable considering where the fic left off. It really warms my heart that people are eager for the story to continue, even though it's been so long since I posted regularly for it. Thank you!

To answer your question: Yes, I plan on continuing Words We Use in the Shadows. In fact, I've been actively working on it for a couple months now. There's currently about 10 000 words distributed across eight-ish chapters. Some chapters are almost completely done, while others only have a couple paragraphs. I suspect the story needs a few chapters more, and probably double the word count to feel finished.

That being said, I don't plan on posting until then. I managed to stay on top of the story in the beginning, as I was a few chapters ahead, but I quickly realized I should have been closer to done before I started posting. Life happens etc, but I never forgot about my baby; I was just too overwhelmed to touch it. You could also say I have an aversion to completing projects, while also being unable to resist new ones. BUT then inspiration slapped me across the face some months ago, and now I'm determined to wrap this baby up.

Tldr: You have to sit tight a while longer, but the ending's in sight. :) And because I'm feeling benevolent (and because it might give me motivation to keep working on it), here's an excerpt of what's to come:

Eris shivered. He tightened the scarf around his neck, burying his chin in the royal blue cashmere as if he was already out on the dark, chilly street.

There was a cold in his bones he feared would never thaw again. Still, he would rather choose to freeze than be at the mercy of his father ever again. Uncertainty and homelessness was a price he was willing to pay, for both his own and his mother's sake. God knows she had suffered her share for him — and he for her, he had lately realized. There was no way they would end up back in that man's pocket, no matter how warm. Eris would make sure of it. Which was why, when his father had been here last to threaten with the ultimatum of his mother returning or Eris' eviction, Eris had chosen the latter. He had leaned against the door after shutting it in his father's face, panting like he had physically fought him off. His mom emerged from the bedroom, hugged his trembling body, and with a sad smile offered to go back for his sake. Eris' mind had gone dangerously blank as he stared at her, and when she stepped back with a look that edged on fear, he felt something inside him snap. He crashed down to the floor heaving for breath, his lungs too small and his arms too heavy, and somewhere in the distance he could hear his mother screaming for him. When he finally found back to himself, Eris choked out a plea for his her to never return to that man, no matter what. That he would rather die than see her go back. Thalia was weeping when she replied, holding Eris' face between her small hands and keeping her gaze fixed on his. "I promise, Eris. I promise, I promise, I promise." Tears ran freely down her cheeks, dripping off her pointed chin and into her lap, darkening the fabric of her trousers. Eris reached forward to sweep away the tears with his thumb, and his mother closed her russet eyes. Pale, wet lashes rested against dark circles, and a final, quiet sob racked through her. Eris flung his arms around her tiny body. "Let's both promise," he murmured into her hair, soaking in her scent. "That neither one of us will accept anything from him again, even if it seems we have no other choice. There is always a choice, Mom. And we will choose each other — together, not one at the cost of the other. Do you understand? If I get my freedom only because you sacrifice yours, I do not want it." They had held each other quietly for a long time, the only sounds breaking the silence being an occasional labored breath or a noise from outside their little bubble. He stroked his mother's back in circular motions, while her hands moved up and down his sides. They were rocking back and forth like when soothing a small child, but he didn't know which one of them was keeping the momentum; who was being soothed. All the while, Eris planned. And now that plan was being set out in action.
